RESOLUTION NO. 2025-501 RESOLUTION APPROVING AN AMENDMENT TO THE DEVELOPMENT AGREEMENT BETWEEN EIC ENTERPRISES, LLC, NORTHEAST IOWA FOOD BANK, AND THE CITY OF WATERLOO, FOR THE RELOCATION OF TWO HOMES LOCATED AT 1633 AND 1637 LAFAYETTE STREET, AND POSSIBLE REUSE OF 1617 LAFAYETTE STREET, AND AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE SAID AMENDMENT. WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo is committed to facilitating strategic development and housing solutions in collaboration with EIC Enterprises, LLC, and Northeast Iowa Food Bank; and WHEREAS, the original Development Agreement is being amended to address the relocation of two homes at 1633 and 1637 Lafayette Street, as well as explore the possible reuse of the property at 1617 Lafayette Street, in a manner consistent with community development goals; and WHEREAS, this amendment serves to optimize land use, enhance local community resources, and support the objectives outlined by all parties involved for improved housing and welfare facilities; and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waterloo, Iowa, that: 1. The Amendment to the Development Agreement among EIC Enterprises, LLC, Northeast Iowa Food Bank, and the City of Waterloo concerning the relocation of homes at 1633 and 1637 Lafayette Street and potential reuse of 1617 Lafayette Street is hereby approved. 2. The Mayor and City Clerk are authorized and directed to execute said documents on behalf of the City of Waterloo, Iowa. PASSED AND ADOPTED this 2nd day of September 2025.
