RESOLUTION NO. 2025-523
RESOLUTION APPROVING AWARD OF BID TO BROCK
EVEN CONSTRUCTION, OF JESUP, IOWA, IN THE
AMOUNT OF $76,843.42, APPROVING THE CONTRACT,
BOND AND CERTIFICATE OF INSURANCE, IN
CONJUNCTION WITH THE FY 2026 SIDEWALK REPAIR
ASSESSMENT PROGRAM - ZONE 5A, CONTRACT NO. 1127,
AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO
EXECUTE SAID DOCUMENT.
WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo has committed to continuing improvements of
pedestrian infrastructure through the FY 2026 Sidewalk Repair Assessment Program,
particularly in Zone 5A, under Contract No. 1127; and
WHEREAS, Brock Even Construction, of Jesup, Iowa, has submitted the lowest
responsible bid in the amount of $76,843.42 for the specified sidewalk improvements; and
WHEREAS, the City's review process confirms that the bid, contract terms, bond, and
certificate of insurance meet all necessary requirements and standards; and
WHEREAS, it is deemed to be in the best interest of the City to approve this bid and
proceed with the necessary formalities.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waterloo,
Iowa, that:
1. The bid from Brock Even Construction in the amount of $76,843.42 is hereby
approved for the FY 2026 Sidewalk Repair Assessment Program - Zone 5A, Contract No. 1127.
2. The contract, bond, and certificate of insurance are hereby approved, and they meet all
municipal and statutory requirements, providing the necessary legal and financial assurances.
3. The Mayor and City Clerk are authorized and directed to execute said documents on
behalf of the City of Waterloo, Iowa.
