RESOLUTION NO. 2025-525
RESOLUTION APPROVING AWARD OF BID TO K&W
ELECTRIC OF CEDAR FALLS IN THE AMOUNT OF
$524,947.50, APPROVING THE CONTRACT, BONDS, AND
CERTIFICATE OF INSURANCE, IN CONJUNCTION WITH
THE ANSBOROUGH AVENUE CMAQ, TRAFFIC SIGNAL
FIBER OPTIC INSTALLATION FROM DOWNING AVENUE
SOUTH 2.7 MILES TO FISCHER DRIVE, CONTRACT NO.07-
8155-784, AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY
CLERK TO EXECUTE SAID DOCUMENTS.
WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo is undertaking the Ansborough Avenue CMAQ Traffic
Signal Fiber Optic Installation project to improve traffic signal communication infrastructure
along a 2.7-mile stretch from Downing Avenue to Fischer Drive, under Contract No. 07-8155-
784; and
WHEREAS, K&W Electric of Cedar Falls has submitted the lowest responsible bid in the
amount of $524,947.50 for this project; and
WHEREAS, the City's review confirms that K&W Electric's bid, contract terms, bonds,
and certificate of insurance meet the necessary standards and requirements; and
WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the City to approve this bid and proceed with the
execution of the necessary contractual documents.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waterloo,
Iowa, that:
1. The bid from K&W Electric in the amount of $524,947.50 is hereby approved for the
Ansborough Avenue CMAQ Traffic Signal Fiber Optic Installation project under Contract No.
07-8155-784.
2. The contract, bonds, and certificate of insurance are hereby approved and are in
compliance with all municipal, state, and federal requirements, providing the necessary
assurances for project execution.
3. That the Mayor and City Clerk are authorized and directed to execute said documents
on behalf of the City of Waterloo, Iowa.
