RESOLUTION NO. 2025-527
RESOLUTION APPROVING AWARD OF BID TO K&W
ELECTRIC OF CEDAR FALLS IN THE AMOUNT OF
$774,627.00 APPROVING THE CONTRACT, BONDS, AND
CERTIFICATE OF INSURANCE, IN CONJUNCTION WITH
THE BROADWAY STREET CMAQ TRAFFIC SIGNALS,
FIBER OPTIC INSTALLATION, BROADWAY STREET, US 63
NORTH 4.2 MILES TO US 218, CONTRACT NO.07-8155-785,
AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO
EXECUTE SAID DOCUMENTS.
WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo is undertaking the Broadway Street CMAQ Traffic
Signals and Fiber Optic Installation project, extending from US 63 north to US 218, under
Contract No. 07-8155-785, to enhance traffic management and infrastructure; and
WHEREAS, K&W Electric of Cedar Falls has submitted the lowest responsible bid in the
amount of $774,627.00 for this significant project; and
WHEREAS, the proposal, inclusive of the contract terms, bonds, and certificate of
insurance, has been thoroughly reviewed and meets all necessary legal and compliance
requirements; and
WHEREAS, it is advantageous for the City to proceed with the approval of this bid and
formalize the associated contractual documents.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waterloo,
Iowa, that:
1. The bid from K&W Electric in the amount of $774,627.00 is hereby approved for the
Broadway Street CMAQ Traffic Signals and Fiber Optic Installation project under Contract No.
07-8155-785.
2. The accompanying contract, bonds, and certificate of insurance are hereby approved,
ensuring compliance with all municipal, state, and federal standards, thereby securing the
necessary project assurances.
3. That the Mayor and City Clerk are authorized and directed to execute said documents
on behalf of the City of Waterloo, Iowa.
