RESOLUTION NO. 2025-530
RESOLUTION TO APPROVE A REQUEST BY E & A
PROPERTIES, LLC, FOR AN APPEAL OF THE CITY
ENGINEER TO ALLOW FOR AUTOMOBILES TO BE
PARKED IN THE CITY -OWNED RIGHT-OF-WAY OF WEST
16TH STREET NORTHEAST OF JEFFERSON STREET, IN
THE "M-1" LIGHT INDUSTRIAL DISTRICT.
WHEREAS, E & A Properties, LLC, has formally appealed to the Waterloo City Council
seeking permission to allow automobiles to be parked in the city -owned right-of-way of West
16th Street, located northeast of Jefferson Street, within the "M-1" Light Industrial District; and
WHEREAS, the City Engineer has previously rendered a decision prohibiting such
parking in the aforementioned right-of-way based on established city regulations and policies;
and
WHEREAS, the City Council has reviewed E & A Properties, LLC's request, including
considerations related to public safety, traffic flow, and urban planning, as well as any potential
impacts on the local community and industrial operations; and
WHEREAS, public notifications have been provided, and a hearing has been conducted
to solicit input from stakeholders and community members regarding the appeal.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waterloo,
Iowa, that:
1. The appeal by E & A Properties, LLC, to allow automobiles to be parked in the city -
owned right-of-way on West 16th Street northeast of Jefferson Street, within the "M-1" Light
Industrial District, is hereby approved.
2. This approval is contingent upon compliance with any conditions or requirements
stipulated by the City Council, in collaboration with the City Engineer, to safeguard public
interest and ensure alignment with city regulations.
