RESOLUTION NO. 2025-507 RESOLUTION SETTING THE DATE OF PUBLIC HEARING AS OCTOBER 6, 2025, FOR THE SALE AND CONVEYANCE OF APPROXIMATELY 24.3 ACRES OF CITY -OWNED PROPERTY, LOCATED AT THE SOUTHWEST CORNER OF KIMBALL AVENUE AND WEST ORANGE ROAD, IN THE AMOUNT OF $1.00, TO MIDWEST DEVELOPMENT COMPANY, WITH A DEVELOPMENT AGREEMENT FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF SEVENTY SINGLE-FAMILY HOMES, AND INSTRUCT THE CITY CLERK TO PUBLISH PUBLIC NOTICE. WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo owns approximately 24.3 acres of property located at the southwest corner of Kimball Avenue and West Orange Road; and WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo proposes to sell and convey said property to Midwest Development Company for the amount of $1.00, along with a Development Agreement stipulating the construction of seventy single-family homes on the property; and WHEREAS, Iowa Code requires a public hearing prior to the conveyance of city -owned property; and WHEREAS, it is necessary to set a date for said public hearing. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waterloo, Iowa, that: 1. The public hearing be set for October 6, 2025, to consider the proposed sale and conveyance of the aforementioned city -owned property to Midwest Development Company. 2. The terms and conditions under consideration include the sale amount of $1.00 and a Development Agreement for the construction of seventy single-family homes. 3. The City Clerk is hereby directed to publish notice of said public hearing in accordance with applicable laws and city policies, ensuring adequate notice to the public.
