RESOLUTION NO. 2025-510
RESOLUTION APPROVING A TITLE VI NON-
DISCRIMINATION AGREEMENT WITH THE IOWA
DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION AND AUTHORIZING
THE MAYOR AND HUMAN RIGHTS DIRECTOR TO
EXECUTE SAID DOCUMENT.
WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo is committed to ensuring that no person, on the
grounds of race, color, or national origin, is excluded from participation in, denied the benefits
of, or subjected to discrimination under any program or activity receiving Federal financial
assistance as provided by Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and related statutes; and
WHEREAS, the Iowa Depaitiiient of Transportation requires the City to enter into a Title
VI Non -Discrimination Agreement as a condition of receiving Federal financial assistance; and
WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the City to comply with Title VI requirements to
uphold the principles of non-discrimination in its programs and activities.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waterloo,
Iowa, that:
1. The Title VI Non -Discrimination Agreement between the City of Waterloo and the
Iowa Department of Transportation is hereby approved.
2. The City Clerk shall retain a copy of the executed Agreement for the official records of
the City, ensuring compliance with Title VI requirements.
3. The Mayor and Human Rights Director are authorized and directed to execute said
Agreement on behalf of the City of Waterloo, Iowa.
