RESOLUTION NO. 2025-511
RESOLUTION APPROVING A STANDARD TITLE VI/NON-
DISCRIMINATION ASSURANCES AGREEMENT WITH THE
UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION
AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND HUMAN RIGHTS
DIRECTOR TO EXECUTE SAID DOCUMENT.
WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo is dedicated to ensuring compliance with Title VI of
the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and related statutes, which prohibit discrimination on the basis of
race, color, national origin, sex, age, disability, and other characteristics in programs and
activities receiving Federal financial assistance; and
WHEREAS, the United States Department of Transportation requires the execution of a
Standard Title VI/Non-Discrimination Assurances agreement as a condition for receiving Federal
financial assistance; and
WHEREAS, it is in the City's interest to uphold these assurances to maintain federal
funding and adhere to equality principles in transportation -related activities.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waterloo,
Iowa, that:
1. The Title VI Non -Discrimination Assurances Agreement between the City of
Waterloo and the United States Department of Transportation is hereby approved.
2. The City Clerk shall retain a copy of the executed Agreement for the official records of
the City, ensuring compliance with Title VI requirements.
3. The Mayor and Human Rights Director are authorized and directed to execute said
Agreement on behalf of the City of Waterloo, Iowa.
