RESOLUTION NO. 2025-514
RESOLUTION APPROVING AWARD OF HOTEL/MOTEL
TAX COUNCIL DISCRETIONARY FUNDS TO THE FRIENDS
OF NCC IN THE AMOUNT OF $12,000.00.
WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo collects hotel/motel tax revenues which are allocated,
in part, for discretionary distribution by the City Council for the promotion of tourism and
related community activities; and
WHEREAS, the Friends of NCC have submitted a request for funding to support
initiatives that align with the objectives of enhancing local tourism and community engagement;
and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the request by the Friends of NCC is a valuable
contribution towards promoting and increasing tourism, thereby benefitting the community and
local economy; and
WHEREAS, the allocation of these funds has been reviewed and recommended for
approval.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waterloo,
Iowa, that:
1. The award of hotel/motel tax council discretionary funds to the Friends of NCC in the
amount of Twelve Thousand Dollars ($12,000.00) is hereby approved.
2. That said funds are designated to be used by the Friends of NCC for security for the
2025 National Cattle Congress Fair.
