RESOLUTION NO. 2025-517
RESOLUTION APPROVING AWARD OF BID TO DON
GARDNER CONSTRUCTION OF WATERLOO, IOWA, IN
THE AMOUNT OF $24,785.00, IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE
REMODEL OF THE WATERLOO CONVENTION CENTER
SKYWALK BETWEEN THE HOTEL AND CONVENTION
CENTER AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE
SAID DOCUMENT.
WHEREAS, the Waterloo Convention Center is an essential facility that contributes to
the city's economic activity by attracting events and visitors; and
WHEREAS, the Skywalk connecting the Hotel and Convention Center requires
remodeling to improve the infrastructure and enhance accessibility for guests and visitors; and
WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo has conducted a formal bidding process in compliance
with relevant laws and ordinances to select a qualified contractor for the remodeling project; and
WHEREAS, Don Gardner Construction of Waterloo, Iowa, has provided the lowest
responsible bid in the amount of $24,785.00 for the remodel of the Waterloo Convention Center
Skywalk; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of Waterloo finds it beneficial to award the contract to Don
Gardner Construction for this project.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waterloo,
Iowa, that:
1. The bid from Don Gardner Construction in the amount of $24,785.00 for the remodel
of the Waterloo Convention Center Skywalk is hereby accepted and awarded.
2. The Mayor is authorized and directed to execute said document on behalf of the City
of Waterloo, Iowa.
