RESOLUTION NO. 2025-520 RESOLUTION FIXING THE VALUE OF LOTS IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE FY 2026 SIDEWALK REPAIR ASSESSMENT PROGRAM - ZONE 5A, CONTRACT NO. 1127. WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo is undertaking the FY 2026 Sidewalk Repair Assessment Program, specifically focusing on necessary repairs and improvements within Zone 5A as detailed in Contract No. 1127; and WHEREAS, determining and fixing the value of lots benefiting from these improvements is essential for equitable cost distribution; and WHEREAS, comprehensive evaluations have been performed to ascertain lot values, and such values reflect the benefit to be derived from the sidewalk improvements; and WHEREAS, necessary public notices have been disseminated, and public hearings have been conducted to gather community input on these valuations and the overall assessment process. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waterloo, Iowa, that: 1. The value of lots within Zone 5A impacted by the FY 2026 Sidewalk Repair Assessment Program under Contract No. 1127 is hereby fixed as determined by the evaluations and data presented. 2. These fixed values shall serve as the basis for calculating and assessing the costs associated with sidewalk improvements, ensuring fair cost allocation among property owners in proportion to the benefits received. 3. The Engineering and Finance Departments are authorized to implement these valuations in preparing the final assessments in accordance with applicable municipal, state, and federal regulations.
