RESOLUTION NO. 2025-545
RESOLUTION APPROVING THE AWARD OF BID TO
MIDWEST DEMOLITION CONTRACTORS, INC. OF
WALFORD, IOWA, IN THE AMOUNT OF $224,700.00,
APPROVING THE CONTRACT, BOND, AND CERTIFICATE
OF INSURANCE, IN CONJUNCTION WITH DEMOLITION
AND SITE CLEARANCE SERVICES, CONTRACT NO. D-
2025-08-01P, AT 310 UPLAND DRIVE, AND AUTHORIZING
THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE SAID
DOCUMENTS.
WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo has solicited bids for Demolition and Site Clearance
Services at 310 Upland Drive under Contract No. D-2025-08-01P; and
WHEREAS, after due consideration, Midwest Demolition Contractors, Inc. of Walford,
Iowa, submitted the lowest responsible bid in the amount of $224,700.00; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to approve the contract, bond, and certificate of insurance
associated with the aforementioned demolition and site clearance services; and
WHEREAS, the City desires to proceed with the execution of the contract, bond, and
certificate of insurance to facilitate the timely completion of the project.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waterloo,
Iowa, that:
1. The bid submitted by Midwest Demolition Contractors, Inc. in the amount of
$224,700.00 is hereby accepted and approved.
2. The contract, bond, and certificate of insurance for the Demolition and Site Clearance
Services at 310 Upland Drive, Contract No. D-2025-08-01P, are hereby approved.
3. The Mayor and City Clerk are authorized and directed to execute said documents on
behalf of the City of Waterloo, Iowa.
