RESOLUTION NO. 2025-584
RESOLUTION APPROVING THE GROUND EMERGENCY
MEDICAL TRANSPORT (GEMT) PROGRAM RELATED IGT
FUND TRANSFER AGREEMENT FOR FY 2027 AND
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE SAID
DOCUMENT.
WHEREAS, the Ground Emergency Medical Transport (GEMT) program provides
necessary funding mechanisms to enhance the City of Waterloo's emergency medical services;
and
WHEREAS, participation in the GEMT program through the IGT (Intergovernmental
Transfer) Fund Transfer Agreement allows the City to receive federal matching funds to support
and improve emergency medical transport services; and
WHEREAS, the terms and conditions of the IGT Fund Transfer Agreement for FY 2027
have been reviewed and are found to be in the best interest of the City's emergency medical
infrastructure and operations; and
WHEREAS, it is essential to authorize the Mayor to execute this agreement to facilitate
the funds transfer and compliance with the program's requisites.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WATERLOO, IOWA,
1. The Ground Emergency Medical Transport (GEMT) Program Related IGT Fund
Transfer Agreement for FY 2027 is hereby approved.
2. The Mayor is authorized and directed to execute the said document on behalf of the
City of Waterloo, Iowa.
