RESOLUTION NO. 2025-593
RESOLUTION APPROVING AN ENGINEERING SERVICES
AGREEMENT WITH STRAND ASSOCIATES, TO UPDATE
THE WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT FACILITIES
PLAN FROM 2017, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED
$275,000.00, AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO
EXECUTE SAID DOCUMENT.
WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo requires an updated Facilities Plan for the Wastewater
Treatment Plant, with the last update completed in 2017, to ensure compliance and optimize
operations; and
WHEREAS, Strand Associates possesses the expertise required to provide a
comprehensive update to the Facilities Plan, addressing current and future needs; and
WHEREAS, the negotiated agreement with Strand Associates specifies a cost not to
exceed $275,000.00 for these services; and
WHEREAS, updating the Facilities Plan is crucial for maintaining effective and efficient
wastewater management operations, ensuring regulatory compliance and environmental
stewardship.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waterloo,
Iowa, that:
1. The City Council hereby approves the Engineering Services Agreement, in an amount
not to exceed $275,000.00, with Strand Associates for updating the Wastewater Treatment Plant
Facilities Plan.
2. The Mayor is authorized and directed to execute said documents on behalf of the City
of Waterloo, Iowa.
