CHAMBERS, CITY HALL, WATER-
LOO, IOWA.
THE PURPOSE OF THE FUBL1C
HEARING IS TO DISCUSS AND
MAKE ANY NECESSARY AMEND-
MENTS TO THE MARTIN ROAD
DEVELOPMENT PLAN. TO RE-
MOVE PROPERTY TO THE PLAN
AREA, AND TO INCLUDE OTHER
UPDATES.
The area included in the Martin
Road Development Plan (the 'Plan")
is an economic development area
within the meaning of lows Code §
403.17(10). Such area is appropriate
for commercial and Industrial enter-
prises and is eligible for an urban
renewal project and otherwise meets
all requisites under the provisions of
Iowa Code Chapter 403. The general
scope of urban renewal activities in
the area Involves the rehabilitation.
conservation, development, and rede-
velopment o1 such area, or a combi-
nation of such activities in the area. to
promote continued growth and devel-
opment of commercial activities in the
area through various public purpose
and special financing activities out-
lined in the Plan. These activities are
deemed necessary in the Interest of
the public health, safety or welfare of
the residents of the City of Waterloo.
The Plan amendment is an amend-
ment to the Plan, originally adopted
in 1990 and subsequently amended In
2004. 2014 three timesln 2016, and
in 2022. Among other changes, the
amendment is proposed to remove
the following property from the Plan
area:
The South Two Hundred Fifty (250,00)
feet of Lot Nc. Sixteen (16), King-
swood Second Addition, Waterloo.
Black Hawk County, Iowa.
The Plan provides that the City may
issue bands or use available funds
for purposes allowed by the Plan
amendment, and that tax Increment
reimbursement of such costs Will be
sought if and to the extent incurred
by the City. The Plan may be further
amended from time to time to respond
to future development opportunities.
The public hearing will be held at 5:30
p.m. on Monday, November 3, 2025.

loo, lows, 50703, before the date set
for hearing.
