RESOLUTION NO. 2025-638
RESOLUTION APPROVING AN AMENDMENT TO A
DEVELOPMENT AGREEMENT, ORIGINALLY EXECUTED
FEBRUARY 21, 2022, WITH IOWA HEARTLAND HABITAT
FOR HUMANITY, TO EXTEND THE DEADLINE FOR THE
COMPLETION OF ONE HOME IN THE DEVELOPMENT
AGREEMENT, AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND
CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE SAID DOCUMENT.
WHEREAS the City of Waterloo, and Iowa Heartland Habitat for Humanity entered into
a Development Agreement dated February 21, 2022, for the construction of single-family infill
housing; and
WHEREAS, Iowa Heartland Habitat for Humanity has requested an amendment to the
Agreement to extend the deadline for the completion of one home located at 411 Wellington.
WHEREAS, City staff has reviewed the request and recommends approval of an
extension to accommodate project scheduling and ensure delivery of a code -compliant, owner -
occupied residence consistent with the City's infill housing objectives; and
WHEREAS, the proposed Amendment to the Development Agreement extends the
completion deadline for the home located at 411 Wellington to October 16, 2025, with all other
terms and conditions of the Agreement remaining in full force and effect.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waterloo,
Iowa, that:
1. The Amendment to the Development Agreement with Iowa Heartland Habitat for
Humanity, is hereby approved. The Amendment extends the completion deadline for the home
located at 411 Wellington to October 16, 2025.
2. The Mayor and City Clerk are authorized and directed to execute said documents on
behalf of the City of Waterloo, Iowa.
