RESOLUTION NO. 2025-641
RESOLUTION APPROVING A PROFESSIONAL SERVICES
CONTRACT WITH SCHUMACHER ELEVATOR FOR THE
REPLACEMENT OF THE WATERLOO PUBLIC LIBRARY
ELEVATOR IN THE AMOUNT OF $275,301.00 AND
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE SAID
DOCUMENT.
WHEREAS the Waterloo Public Library requires replacement of an existing elevator to
ensure safe, reliable, and ADA-compliant access for patrons and staff; and
WHEREAS, City staff has negotiated a Professional Services Contract with Schumacher
Elevator Company to provide elevator replacement services, including equipment, installation,
testing, and commissioning; and
WHEREAS, the total contract amount is $275,301.00, and City staff has determined the
proposed contract is in the best interests of the City and compliant with applicable City
purchasing policies and Iowa law.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waterloo,
Iowa, that:
1. The Professional Services Contract with Schumacher Elevator Company for the
Waterloo Public Library elevator replacement project, in the amount of $275,301.00, is hereby
approved.
2. The Mayor is authorized and directed to execute said documents on behalf of the City
of Waterloo, Iowa.
