RESOLUTION NO. 2025-620 RESOLUTION APPROVING THE REQUEST BY BLACK HAWK LLC, FOR TAX EXEMPTIONS ON THE CONSTRUCTION OF A NEW COMMERCIAL BUILDING VALUED AT $535,000.00, FOR PROPERTY LOCATED AT 1923 BLACK HAWK STREET AND LOCATED IN THE CONSOLIDATED URBAN REVITALIZATION AREA (CURA). WHEREAS, Black Hawk, LLC, property owner, has submitted a request for tax exemptions under the Consolidated Urban Revitalization Area (CURA) program for a newly constructed commercial building valued at $535,000.00; and WHEREAS, the property is located at 1923 Black Hawk Street, within the designated Consolidated Urban Revitalization Area, as established by City of Waterloo ordinances to encourage development and improvement of specified areas; and WHEREAS, the new construction of this commercial building meets the eligibility criteria as outlined in the CURA plan, which aims to foster residential development and investment in the urban core; and WHEREAS, granting this tax exemption is anticipated to enhance the local commercial buildings, stimulate economic growth, and promote community revitalization; and WHEREAS, said applicant is requesting the following three-year exemption schedule: For the first year 100% For the second year 100% For the third year 100% NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WATERLOO, IOWA, 1. The City Council hereby approves the request for tax exemptions for the construction of the new commercial building located at 1923 Black Hawk Street, valued at $535,000.00, as per the guidelines of the Consolidated Urban Revitalization Area plan. 2. The property owner, Black Hawk, LLC, shall be eligible for specified tax exemptions subject to compliance with the terms and duration set forth in the CURA.
