RESOLUTION NO. 2025-621
RESOLUTION SETTING DATE OF PUBLIC HEARING AS
DECEMBER 1, 2025, TO APPROVE ENTERING INTO A
LONG-TERM GROUND LEASE WITH GRAND HUSK SOLAR
TO LEASE APPROXIMATELY 759 ACRES OF AIRPORT -
OWNED LAND, AND INSTRUCT THE CITY CLERK TO
PUBLISH NOTICE.
WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo owns approximately 759 acres of airport land; and
WHEREAS, Husk Solar has expressed interest in entering into a long-term ground lease
for agricultural and renewable energy development use; and
WHEREAS, setting a public hearing facilitates transparency and provides an opportunity
for public comment and City Council review of the site plan amendment to ensure alignment
with zoning and planning regulations; and
WHEREAS, the City Clerk is required to publish notice of the public hearing to ensure
that the residents and stakeholders within the community are informed and able to participate.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WATERLOO, IOWA,
1. The date for the public hearing on the ground lease agreement with Grand Husk Solar
is hereby set for December 1, 2025.
2. The City Clerk is hereby directed to publish notice of said public hearing in accordance
with applicable laws and city policies, ensuring adequate notice to the public.
