RESOLUTION NO. 2025-625
RESOLUTION APPROVING AWARD OF HOTEL/MOTEL
TAX COUNCIL DISCRETIONARY FUNDS TO THE CEDAR
VALLEY IRISH CULTURAL ASSOCIATION IN THE
AMOUNT OF $6,250.00.
WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo manages hotel/motel tax revenues to support activities
and organizations that enhance tourism and local cultural initiatives; and
WHEREAS, the Cedar Valley Irish Cultural Association has applied for discretionary
funds to further its mission of promoting cultural activities and contributing to the community's
artistic landscape; and
WHEREAS, the allocation of $6,250.00 from the hotel/motel tax discretionary funds will
support the Cedar Valley Irish Cultural Association in expanding its programs and services,
thereby promoting local tourism and cultural engagement; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that funding the Cedar Valley Irish
Cultural Association aligns with the City's cultural and economic development objectives.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WATERLOO, IOWA,
1. The award of $6,250.00 from the hotel/motel tax council discretionary funds to the
Cedar Valley Irish Cultural Association is hereby approved.
2. The funds shall be used in accordance with the proposal submitted by the Cedar Valley
Irish Cultural Association, ensuring alignment with the City's goals for cultural and tourism
enhancement.
