RESOLUTION NO. 2025-633
RESOLUTION APPROVING A DEVELOPMENT
AGREEMENT WITH IOWA HEARTLAND HABITAT FOR
HUMANITY, WITH A GRANT OF $7,500.00 FOR INFILL
HOUSING DEVELOPMENT FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF
ONE NEW RESIDENTIAL UNIT, INCLUDING A
DEMOLITION AGREEMENT, AND AUTHORIZING THE
MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE SAID
DOCUMENT.
WHEREAS Iowa Heartland Habitat for Humanity has presented a proposal for the
construction of a single-family home for infill housing development; and
WHEREAS, the Development Agreement outlines the conditions, responsibilities, and
obligations of both the City and Iowa Heartland Habitat for Humanity, with a grant of$7,500.00
for infill housing development for the construction of one new residential unit, including a
Demolition Agreement; and
WHEREAS, it is in the City's best interest to enter into this Development and Demolition
Agreement to facilitate the growth and expansion of residential properties within the city of
Waterloo.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waterloo,
Iowa, that:
1. The Development and Demolition Agreement with Iowa Heartland Habitat for
Humanity for the demolition and of the existing structures and construction a single-family home
at 420 Bayard Street is hereby approved.
2. A $7,500.00 infill housing incentive grant will be provided to Iowa Heartland Habitat
for Humanity
2. The Mayor and City Clerk are authorized and directed to execute said documents on
behalf of the City of Waterloo, Iowa.
