RESOLUTION SETTING DATE OF PUBLIC HEARING AS
DECEMBER 1, 2025, TO APPROVE A REQUEST BY THE
CITY OF WATERLOO TO REZONE APPROXIMATELY 0.33
ACRES FROM "C-1, C-Z" CONDITIONAL ZONING
DISTRICT TO "R-2" ONE- AND TWO-FAMILY RESIDENCE
DISTRICT, LOCATED AT 541 ALBANY STREET, AND
INSTRUCT THE CITY CLERK TO PUBLISH NOTICE.
WHEREAS, a request has been made by the City of Waterloo to rezone approximately
0.33 acres of land located at 541 Albany Street, from "C-1, C-Z" Conditional Zoning District to
"R-2" One- and Two -Family Residence District; and
WHEREAS, the rezone is being requested in an effort to return the property zoning to
residential after the previous owners failed to build and operate a commercial kennel as planned;
and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to set a date for a public hearing to consider this rezone
request in order to gather public input and ensure transparency in the decision -making process.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WATERLOO, IOWA,
1. A public hearing on the proposed rezone is hereby set for December 1, 2025, to
consider the request by the City of Waterloo to rezone approximately 0.33 acres of land, located
at 541 Albany Street, from "C-1, C-Z" Conditional Zoning District to "R-2" One- and Two -
Family Residence District.
2. The City Clerk is hereby directed to publish notice of said public hearing in accordance
with applicable laws and city policies, ensuring adequate notice to the public.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 17th day of November 2025.
