RESOLUTION SETTING DATE OF PUBLIC HEARING AS
DECEMBER 1, 2025, TO APPROVE A REQUEST BY LUKE
AND MEGAN FINLEY TO REZONE APPROXIMATELY 1.18
ACRES FROM "A-1" AGRICULTURAL DISTRICT TO "R-1"
ONE- AND TWO-FAMILY RESIDENCE DISTRICT LOCATED
EAST OF 930 EAST ORANGE ROAD, AND INSTRUCT THE
CITY CLERK TO PUBLISH NOTICE.
WHEREAS , a request has been made by the Luke and Megan Finley to rezone
approximately 1.18 acres of land located east of 930 East Orange Road, from "A-1" Agricultural
District to "R-1" One -and Two -Family Residence District; and
WHEREAS, the rezone is being requested in order to build a new single-family home;
and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to set a date for a public hearing to consider this rezone
request in order to gather public input and ensure transparency in the decision -making process.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WATERLOO, IOWA,
1. A public hearing on the proposed rezone is hereby set for December 1, 2025, to
consider the request by Luke and Megan Finley to rezone approximately 1.18 acres of land,
located east of 930 East Orange Road, from "A-1" Agricultural District to "R-1" One- and Two -
Family Residence District.
2. The City Clerk is hereby directed to publish notice of said public hearing in accordance
with applicable laws and city policies, ensuring adequate notice to the public.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 17' day of November 2025.
