RESOLUTION NO. 2025-669
RESOLUTION APPROVING AWARD OF HOTEL/MOTEL
TAX COUNCIL DISCRETIONARY FUNDS TO THE
NORTHEAST IOWA FOOD BANK INC. IN THE AMOUNT OF
$25,000.00.
WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo manages hotel/motel tax revenues to support activities
and organizations that enhance tourism and local cultural initiatives; and
WHEREAS, Northeast Iowa Food Bank, Inc. has applied for discretionary funds to
further its mission of providing food and services following the Government shutdown; and
WHEREAS, the allocation of $25,000.00 from the hotel/motel tax discretionary funds
will support Northeast Iowa Food Bank, Inc. in providing food and services, nutritious food and
grocery products while offering hunger education programs to the community and those in need;
and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that funding Northeast Iowa Food Bank,
Inc., aligns with the City's cultural and economic development objectives in building a healthy
community
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WATERLOO, IOWA,
1. The award of $25,000.00 from the hotel/motel tax council discretionary funds to the
Northeast Iowa Food Bank, Inc., is hereby approved.
2. The funds shall be used in accordance with the proposal submitted by the Northeast
Iowa Food Bank, Inc., ensuring alignment with the City's goals for cultural and economic
development.
