RESOLUTION ACCEPTING AND APPROVING AN
ACQUISITION CONTRACT AND APPROVING A DEED TO
CONVEY REAL PROPERTY TO THE CITY OF WATERLOO
FOR A PARTIAL RIGHT-OF-WAY ACQUISITION IN THE
AMOUNT OF $3,315.00; A PERMANENT EASEMENT
AGREEMENT IN THE AMOUNT OF $12,282.00; AND A
TEMPORARY EASEMENT AGREEMENT IN THE AMOUNT
OF $465.00; REMOVAL OF PAVEMENT IN THE AMOUNT
OF $9,626.00, FOR A TOTAL COMPENSATION AMOUNT OF
$25,688.00, WITH METRO INVESTMENTS WATERLOO,
LLC, FOR THE PROPERTY LOCATED AT 1328 LA PORTE
ROAD, IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE LA PORTE ROAD
PHASE II RECONSTRUCTION PROJECT; AND
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO
EXECUTE SAID DOCUMENTS.
WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo is undertaking the La Porte Road Phase II
Reconstruction Project; and
WHEREAS, to facilitate this project, a partial right-of-way acquisition for the property
located at 1328 La Porte Road is necessary; and
WHEREAS, Metro Investments Waterloo, LLC, has agreed to:
Convey real property to the City of Waterloo for the sum of $3,315.00.
Grant a Permanent Easement in the amount of $12,282.00.
Grant a Temporary Easement in the amount of $465.00.
Allow for the removal of pavement in the amount of $9,626.00.
WHEREAS, the total compensation to Metro Investments Waterloo, LLC, shall be
$25,688.00.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waterloo,
Iowa:
1 . The Acquisition Contract, Deed, Permanent Easement Agreement, and Temporary
Easement Agreement with Metro Investments Waterloo, LLC, are hereby accepted and
approved.
2. The total compensation to be paid is $25,688.00.
3. The Mayor and City Clerk are authorized and directed to execute said documents on
behalf of the City of Waterloo, Iowa.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 1st day of December 2025.
