RESOLUTION NO. 2025-682
RESOLUTION APPROVING
ACKNOWLEDGMENT/SETTLEMENT AGREEMENT FOR
TOBACCO VIOLATION -SECOND OFFENSE WITH THE
NATIONAL CIGAR STORE, 617 SYCAMORE STREET,
WATERLOO, IOWA 50703, AND ACCEPTANCE OF A CIVIL
PENALTY IN THE AMOUNT OF $1,500.00 AND
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO
EXECUTE SAID DOCUMENT.
WHEREAS the City of Waterloo, Iowa, has determined that the National Cigar Store,
located at 617 Sycamore Street, Waterloo, Iowa 50703, committed a second offense tobacco
violation; and
WHEREAS the City and the National Cigar Store have agreed to an Acknowledgment/
Settlement Agreement regarding said violation; and
WHEREAS, the National Cigar Store has agreed to the acceptance of a civil penalty in
the amount of one thousand five hundred dollars ($1,500.00).
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waterloo,
Iowa, that:
1. The Acknowledgment/Settlement Agreement concerning the tobacco violation -
second offense is hereby approved.
2. The Mayor is authorized and directed to execute said documents on behalf of the City
of Waterloo, Iowa.
