RESOLUTION NO. 2025-699
RESOLUTION APPROVING AN AGREEMENT FOR THE
CARBON REDUCTION PROGRAM FUNDING GRANT WITH
THE IOWA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION, IN THE
AMOUNT OF $1,332,000.00, IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE
CONSTRUCTION OF A ROUNDABOUT AT HAMMOND
AVENUE AND RIDGEWAY AVENUE AND AUTHORIZING
THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE SAID
DOCUMENT.
WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo is committed to reducing carbon emissions and
improving traffic efficiency through the construction of a roundabout at Hammond Avenue and
Ridgeway Avenue; and
WHEREAS, the Iowa Department of Transportation has awarded a Carbon Reduction
Program funding grant in the amount of $1,332,000.00 for this purpose; and
WHEREAS, accepting this grant aligns with the City's sustainability and infrastructure
enhancement initiative.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waterloo,
Iowa, that:
1. The agreement for the Iowa Clean Air Attainment Program funding grant with the
Iowa Department of Transportation, in the amount of $1,332,000.00, is hereby approved.
2. Grant funds will be applied specifically towards the construction of the roundabout at
Hammond Avenue and Ridgeway Avenue.
2. The Mayor and City Clerk are authorized and directed to execute said documents on
behalf of the City of Waterloo, Iowa.
