RESOLUTION NO. 2025-711
RESOLUTION APPROVING AWARD OF HOTEL/MOTEL
TAX COUNCIL DISCRETIONARY FUNDS TO THE
WATERLOO COMMUNITY FOUNDATION FOR WATERLOO
YOUTH CITY COUNCIL IN THE AMOUNT OF $25,000.00.
WHEREAS the City of Waterloo allocates hotel/motel tax funds for discretionary use by
the City Council to support community projects and organizations; and
WHEREAS, the Waterloo Community Foundation has applied for funding to support the
Waterloo Youth City Council, a program fostering civic engagement and leadership among local
youth; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has reviewed the application and deems it to be a valuable
initiative deserving of financial support.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waterloo,
Iowa, that:
1. The City Council hereby approves the award of $25,000.00 from the hotel/motel tax
discretionary fund to the Waterloo Community Foundation for the support of the Waterloo
Youth City Council.
2. The funds are intended to be used specifically for programs and activities that enhance
the civic knowledge, skills, and engagement of participating youth.
