RESOLUTION NO. 2026-012
RESOLUTION APPROVING AN IOWA DEPARTMENT OF
TRANSPORTATION FEDERAL -AID AGREEMENT FOR
TRANSPORTATION ALTERNATIVES PROGRAM (TAP)
PROJECT FUNDS, IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE FY 2026
SERGEANT ROAD TRAIL REPAIRS, CONTRACT NO. 1091,
AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO
EXECUTE SAID DOCUMENT.
WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo, Iowa, is committed to enhancing public infrastructure,
including trails and pedestrian pathways, to improve community health and connectivity; and
WHEREAS, the Sergeant Road Trail requires repairs and enhancements to maintain
safety and accessibility for residents; and
WHEREAS, the Iowa Department of Transportation (IDOT) provides Federal -Aid
through the Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP) to support local infrastructure projects of
this nature; and
WHEREAS, the City has been awarded TAP Project funds in conjunction with the FY
2026 Sergeant Road Trail Repairs, under Contract No. 1091, which will facilitate necessary
improvements.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waterloo,
Iowa, that:
1. The Iowa Department of Transportation Federal -Aid Agreement for Transportation
Alternatives Program Project funds is hereby approved in connection with the Sergeant Road
Trail Repairs.
2. The agreement enhances the City's ability to improve vital infrastructure and
community amenities through external funding.
3. The Mayor and City Clerk are authorized and directed to execute said document on
behalf of the City of Waterloo, Iowa.
