1203.2.15 - Means of egress Emergency power shall be provided for means of egress illumination in
illumination. accordance with Sections 1008.3 and 1104.5.1.
Location: Entire Building.
Original Comment: Exit and egress lights were tested and failed. Need to repair or
replace by licensed contractor.
FAIL 1203.2.6 - Exit signs. Emergency power shall be provided for exit signs as required in Section 1013.6.3.
The system shall be capable of powering the required load for a duration of not
less than 90 minutes.
Location: Entire building.

FAIL 506.1 - Where required. Where access to or within a structure or an area is restricted because of secured
openings or where immediate access is necessary for life-saving or fire -fighting
purposes, the fire code official is authorized to require a key box to be installed in
an approved location. The key box shall be of an approved type listed in
accordance with UL 1037, and shall contain keys to gain necessary access as
required by the fire code official.
Location: Knox needed on building.
Original Comment: Knox box can be ordered at Knoxbox. com. Please call fire
inspector for where to install or having issues ordering.
FAIL 506.2 - Key box maintenance. The operator of the building shall immediately notify the fire code official and
provide the new key where a lock is changed or rekeyed. The key to such lock
shall be secured in the key box.

Original Comment: Master key needed for knoxbox once installed.
Multiplug adapters, such as cube adapters, unfused plug strips or any other
device not complying with NFPA 70 shall be prohibited. The construction and use
of current taps and relocatable taps shall be in accordance with NFPA 70 and this
code.
Location: Work stations on shop floor.
Original Comment: Extension cords cannot be used as permanent wiring. Or
plugged extension cords plugged into power strips. (No daisy chain of extension
cords or power strips.)

connected to an extension cord for temporary use to supply power to electronic
equipment. 2. Current taps and relocatable power taps shall not be required to
connect directly to a permanently installed receptacle outlet where used for 90
days or less for the purpose of testing the performance of such devices.

Original Comment: Powerstrips need to be secured and not hanging. Can be
secured with zip ties.
Hand-held portable fire extinguishers, not housed in cabinets, shall be installed
on the hangers or brackets supplied. Hangers or brackets shall be securely
anchored to the mounting surface in accordance with the manufacturer's
installation instructions.

testing, and maintenance
Location: Fire alarm.
Original Comment: I emailed Hawkeye alarm. They do not have any records of an
annual inspection for the fire alarm side. You will need to contact Hawkeye Alarm
to set up a time for an inspection of the system.

inspection. Normal operating hours for inspections & re -inspections are Monday -
Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. lithe automatically generated re -inspection date lands on
a weekend, the re -inspection will typically be performed the following Monday or
Tuesday. If all corrections are made before the 30 days, you can call to set up an earlier
