DESCRIPTION
Combustible material shall not be stored in boiler rooms, mechanical rooms,
electrical equipment rooms or in fire command centers as specified in Section
508.1.5.
Location: upper electrical room
Original Comment: Remove storage (boxes of materials not related to electrical
or fire equipment) from electrical room. Maintain 36" clearance to fire panel,
transformers, and electric panel
Approved access shall be provided and maintained for all fire protection system
equipment to permit immediate safe operation and maintenance of such
equipment. Storage, trash and other materials or objects shall not be placed or
kept in such a manner that would prevent such equipment from being readily
accessible.

Original Comment: Remove obstructions to dry riser. Maintain a minimum of 36"
path to and around the dry fire sprinler riser. Suggest marking floor and
installing permanent location sign above stating " Fire Sprinkler Riser " at this
time but will be mandatory if found to be repeat offense.

DESCRIPTION
A working space of not Working space around electrical equipment shall be
provided in accordance with Section 110.26 of NFPA 70 for electrical equipment
rated 1,000 volts or less, and Section 110.33 of NFPA 70 for electrical equipment
rated over 1,000 volts. The minimum required working space shall be not less
than 30 inches (762 mm) in width, 36 inches (914 mm) in depth and 78 inches
(1981 mm) in height shall be providedin front of electrical service equipment.
Where the electrical service equipment is wider than 30 inches (762 mm), the
minimum working space shall be not less than the width of the equipment.
Storage of materials shall not be located within the designated working space.
Exceptions: 1. Where other dimensions are required or allowed by NFPA 70. 2.
Access openings into attics or under -floor areas that provide a minimum clear
opening of 22 inches (559 mm) by 30 inches (762 mm).

Relocatable power taps and current taps shall be directly connected to a
permanently installed receptacle. Exceptions: 1. Where approved for use in a
Group A occupancy or in a meeting room in a Group B occupancy, not more than
five relocatable power taps shall be permitted to be connected together or
connected to an extension cord for temporary use to supply power to electronic
equipment. 2. Current taps and relocatable power taps shall not be required to
connect directly to a permanently installed receptacle outlet where used for 90
days or less for the purpose of testing the performance of such devices.

DESCRIPTION
Portable, electric space heaters shall not be operated within 3 feet (914 mm) of
any combustible materials. Portable, electric space heaters shall be operated
only in locations for which they are listed.
Location: Office in Coffee Shop
Original Comment: remove electric heater or provide documentation that it is
approved for commercial use and clearances are maintained.
Automatic sprinklers shall be installed with regard to obstructions that will delay
activation or obstruct the water distribution pattern and shall be in accordance
with the applicable automatic sprinkler system standard that is being used.
Automatic sprinklers shall be installed in or under covered kiosks, displays,
booths, concession stands or equipment that exceeds 4 feet (1219 mm) in width.
Not less than a 3-foot (914 mm) clearance shall be maintained between
automatic sprinklers and the top of piles of combustible fibers. Exception:
Kitchen equipment under exhaust hoods protected with a fire -extinguishing
system in accordance with Section 904.

shall be provided to indicate the locations of extinguishers.
