FAIL 114.1.1 - Unsafe conditions. Structures or existing equipment that are or hereafter become unsafe,
insanitary or deficient because of inadequate means of egress, inadequate light
and ventilation, or that constitute a fire hazard, are otherwise dangerous to
human life or the public welfare, or involve illegal or improper occupancy or
inadequate maintenance, shall be deemed an unsafe condition. Unsafe
structures shall be taken down and removed or made safe, as the fire code
official deems necessary and as provided for in this section. A vacant structure
that is not secured against unauthorized entry as required by Section 311 shall
be deemed unsafe.

maintained. The materials and systems shall be securely attached to or bonded
to the adjacent construction, without openings visible through the construction.
1.joints in or between fire -resistance -rated walls, floors or floor/ceiling
assemblies and roof or roof/ceiling assemblies. 2.joints in smoke barriers. 3.Voids
at the intersection of a horizontal floor assembly and an exterior curtain wall.
4.Voids at the intersection of a horizontal smoke barrier and an exterior curtain
wall. 5.Voids at the intersection of a nonfire-resistance-rated floor assembly and
an exterior curtain wall. 6.Voids at the intersection of a vertical fire barrier and an
exterior curtain wall. 7.Voids at the intersection of a vertical fire barrier and a
nonfire-resistance-rated roof assembly. Unprotected joints and voids do not
need to be protected where such joints and voids were not required to be
protected when the building was originally constructed. Where the system design

Original Comment: Multiple ceiling tiles are missing and need to be replaced.
FAIL 9 - Complaint Field Upon visual inspection does situation match the complaints concerns? Fail to
Verification indicate that the complaint was found to be valid and use the codes tab to
document what violations were noted. If no violations are noted, pass and use
the notes section to indicate that no evidence of the complaints concerns were
found.

Original Comment: Called for a complaint of no heat in the Mall. 1 stopped at the
mall 2/24/2025 and talked with the Mall Manager Keri Bentley. She confirmed that
the boiler was not working and was supposedly getting fixed. She also confirmed
that they are on fire watch for the mall and that they had multiple broken
sprinkler lines that were turned off. She states that she has there are bids out to
get them fixed, but nothing has been approved by the owner for the sprinkler
system and the boiler. 1 talks with the workers at Gino's pizza and China Express
that the temperatures were down to 36F and they were keeping warm with space
heaters or staying near the cooking appliances.

is covered under active sprinkler system. Brian is currently working on Sear Auto, Sears
store, Gordmans, and at Home store.

RE: Inspection Report for your occupancy CAUTION: This email originated from outside
the City of Waterloo email system. Do not click links or open unexpected attachments
unless you recognize the sender and know the content is safe. Good afternoon, I
thought I'd send you a quick update as of today. Sears Auto - sprinkler system
operating Sears/Gordmans - Blackhawk Sprinklers was here Thursday and gave us a
quote of $40k to repair all of the heads that broke in there. My owners haven't given
the approval on that yet. At Home - Blackhawk Sprinklers will finish this space when
they do Sears/Gordmans. Alarm inspections - Hawkeye Alarms will do the inspection
on all three of these locations above, as soon as all the repairs have been made. Boiler
- I've attached the invoices you requested for the Brecke repairs to the tubes. We are
still finding leaks when filling the boiler, once we have all the leaks located and isolated,
the pressure should be where it needs to be and the boiler will be running. Thanks,
