1010.1.3 - Door opening
force Forces to unlatch and
open doors.
The force for pushing or pulling open interior swinging egress doors, other than
fire doors, shall not exceed 5 pounds (22 N). These forces do not apply to the
force required to retract latch bolts or disengage other devices that hold the
door in a closed position. For other swinging doors, as well as sliding and folding
doors, the door latch shall release when subjected to a 15-pound (67 N) force.
The door shall be set in motion when subjected to a 30-pound (133 N) force. The
door shall swing to a full -open position when subjected to a 15-pound (67 N)
force. The forces to unlatch doors shall comply with the following: 1.Where door
hardware operates by push or pull, the operational force to unlatch the door
shall not exceed 15 pounds (66.7 N). 2.Where door hardware operates by
rotation, the operational force to unlatch the door shall not exceed 28 inch -
pounds (315 N-cm). The force to open doors shall comply with the following: 1.For
interior swinging egress doors that are manually operated, other than doors
required to be fire rated, the force for pushing or pulling open the door shall not
exceed 5 pounds (22 N). 2.For other swinging doors, sliding doors or folding
doors, and doors required to be fire rated, the door shall require not more than
a 30-pound (133 N) force to be set in motion and shall move to a full -open
position when subjected to not more than a 15-pound (67 N) force.

Original Comment: Emergency Exit doors must unlatch and swing to full open
with less than 15# of force.

FAIL 1032.2 - Reliability. Required exit accesses, exits and exit discharges shall be continuously
maintained free from obstructions or impediments to full instant use in the case
of fire or other emergency where the building area served by the means of
egress is occupied. An exit or exit passageway shall not be used for any purpose
that interferes with a means of egress.
Location: South Exit Doors from Garden Center
Original Comment: Doors were locked with customers inside store and door
wouldn't unlock with key. Repair lock and post larger sign stating " Door Must
Remain Unlocked When Building Occupied"on doors. Doors must be unlocked
when customers or employees in building as there is a concieved conclusion that
the signed exit door is vialble escape in case of emergency and will not break
away when locked.
FAIL 1203.2.6 - Exit signs. Emergency power shall be provided for exit signs as required in Section 1013.6.3.
The system shall be capable of powering the required load for a duration of not
less than 90 minutes.

FAIL 1203.4.3 - Records. Records of the inspection, testing and maintenance of emergency and standby
power systems shall include the date of service, name of the servicing technician,
a summary of conditions noted and a detailed description of any conditions
requiring correction and what corrective action was taken. Such records shall be
maintained.

Original Comment: Provide documentation of testing and repair of all emergency
egress and exit/egress lights in building with signature and date. Report may be
emailed to fire inspector.

FAIL 1203.5 - Operational Emergency power systems, including all appurtenant components, shall be
inspection and testing. inspected and tested under load in accordance with NFPA 110 and NFPA 111.
Exception: Where the emergency power system is used for standby power or
peak load shaving, such use shall be recorded and shall be allowed to be
substituted for scheduled testing of the generator set, provided that appropriate
records are maintained.

annual load bank test for emergency generator. Reports may be emailed to Fire

5.2.1 - Annual sprinkler Sprinklers shall be inspected at least annually by licensed contractor
system inspection

Original Comment: Provide current 5 year fire sprinkler inspection report with all
discrepancies corrected. Currently 328 days past due. Contactor must upload
report and corrections online to the compliance engin.
FAIL 507.5.3 - Private fire service Private fire service mains and water tanks shall be periodically inspected, tested
mains and water tanks. and maintained in accordance with NFPA 25 at the following intervals: 1.Private
fire hydrants of all types: Inspection annually and after each operation; flow test
and maintenance annually. 2.Fire service main piping: Inspection of exposed,
annually; flow test every 5 years. 3.Fire service main piping strainers: Inspection
and maintenance after each use. Records of inspections, testing and
maintenance shall be maintained.

FAIL 509.1 - Identification. Fire protection equipment shall be identified in an approved manner. Rooms
containing controls for air-conditioning systems, sprinkler risers and valves, or
other fire detection, suppression or control elements fire protection systems
shall be identified for the use of the fire department. Approved signs required to
identify fire protection system equipment and equipment location shall be
constructed of durable materials, permanently installed and readily visible.

603.2 - Abatement of unsafe Identified electrical hazards shall be abated. Identified hazardous electrical
conditions and electrical conditions in permanent wiring shall be brought to the attention of the
hazards. responsible code official. Electrical wiring, devices, appliances and other
equipment that is modified or damaged and constitutes Conditions that
constitute an electrical shock or fire hazard shall be abated not be used.

Original Comment: Properly anchor outlet and conduit or remove and properly
contain exposed wiring with a listed box and cover.
FAIL 603.9.4 - Prohibited areas. Portable, electric space heaters shall not be operated within 3 feet (914 mm) of
any combustible materials. Portable, electric space heaters shall be operated
only in locations for which they are listed.

currently plugged into power strip.

FAIL 903.3.3 - Obstructed Automatic sprinklers shall be installed with regard to obstructions that will delay
locations. activation or obstruct the water distribution pattern and shall be in accordance
with the applicable automatic sprinkler system standard that is being used.
Automatic sprinklers shall be installed in or under covered kiosks, displays,
booths, concession stands or equipment that exceeds 4 feet (1219 mm) in width.
Not less than a 3-foot (914 mm) clearance shall be maintained between
automatic sprinklers and the top of piles of combustible fibers. Exception:
Kitchen equipment under exhaust hoods protected with a fire -extinguishing
system in accordance with Section 904.

FAIL 906.6 - Unobstructed and Portable fire extinguishers shall not be obstructed or obscured from view. In
unobscured. rooms or areas in which visual obstruction cannot be completely avoided, means
shall be provided to indicate the locations of extinguishers.

Spray paint for sale display : Indivual spray paint cans can be on fixed shelving up to 8'
but not solidly stacked from the floor over 6'. More restrictions apply to spray paint
cans in boxes or half boxes or other combutstible materials.
