Addendum No. 4
WHEREAS, City of Waterloo and Robinson Engineering Company entered into a contract dated April 5,
2021 for the design of the North Crossing Regional Planning and Design project in Waterloo, Iowa.
WHEREAS, City of Waterloo and Robinson Engineering Company desire to amend the previous
agreement to make the following revisions to the contract.
NOW THEREFORE, it is mutually agreed to amend the original Consultant Agreement as follows:
I. Scope of Services
The scope of services is amended to add the following scope items to the project:
Design a Pump Station for the Detention Pond at North Crossing: Due to the fact that the
detention pond constructed as a part of this project over two years ago will not drain properly, it
was decided that a small pump station installed at the outlet would ensure that the pond works
properly and does not hold water for extended periods of time. This scope item will include the
following subtasks:
1. Calculate Flows: Calculate flow volumes for the detention pond to determine when the
pump station should operate. This will include the Water Quality Volume (WQv), 5-year,
10-year, 25-year, and 50-year flows. (The 100-year flow was determined as a part of the
original project.)
2. Produce Plans: Plans for a self-contained pump station will be created. These plans will
include utility connections and providing an access road to the pump station for routine
maintenance. A force -main storm sewer pipe will be designed to carry the detention pond
flows through the overflow berm and into a drainage channel to Virden Creek. This task will
include coordinating with suppliers to obtain a design for the pump station and ensure that the
pumps used in the structure meet city requirements.
3. Coordinate with City Staff: Once plans and specifications have been created, they will be
presented to city staff for review.
4. Construction : A limited amount of time will be set -aside to help the developer and
contractor during construction. No field work will be completed. However, Robinson staff
will be available to answer any questions that may come up concerning the construction and
installation of the new pump station.

II. Compensation
Design of Pump Station:
1. Calculate Flows

3. Coordinate Review
4. Construction
Total Additional Compensation =
$4,000.00

The compensation for this supplemental agreement is to be integrated with that covered under the
original contract.
III. In all other respects, the obligations of City of Waterloo and Robinson Engineering
Company shall remain as specified in the Original Contract dated April 5, 2021, and all
addendums.
IN WHITNESS WHEREOF, the parties hereto have executed this Addendum No. 3 as of the dates shown
below.
