A RESOLUTION SETTING DATE OF PUBLIC HEARING AS
MARCH 2, 2026, TO APPROVE THE REQUEST BY THE CITY
OF WATERLOO TO REZONE APPROXIMATELY 1.25
ACRES FROM "M-1" LIGHT INDUSTRIAL DISTRICT TO "B-
P" BUSINESS PARK DISTRICT LOCATED SOUTH OF US
HIGHWAY 218 AND EAST OF BLACK HAWK CREEK, AT
THE EASTERLY DEAD END OF FALLS AVENUE, AND
INSTRUCT THE CITY CLERK TO PUBLISH NOTICE.
WHEREAS , the City of Waterloo has made a request to rezone certain real property
within the City; and
WHEREAS, the property consists of approximately 1.25 acres, currently zoned "M-1"
Light Industrial District, and the requested zoning classification is `B-P" Business Park District;
and
WHEREAS, the subject property is generally located south of U.S. Highway 218 and east
of Black Hawk Creek, at the easterly dead end of Falls Avenue, Waterloo, Iowa; and
WHEREAS, it is in the interest of public welfare to conduct a public hearing to consider
the request and allow for public comment and discussion.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waterloo,
Iowa, that:
1. The public hearing be set for March 2, 2026, to review and the sale and conveyance of
the property located at 718 W. 2nd Street to receive oral and/or written comments regarding the
proposed rezoning of approximately 1.25 acres from "M-1" Light Industrial District to `B-P"
Business Park District, located south of U.S. Highway 218 and east of Black Hawk Creek, at the
easterly dead end of Falls Avenue.

2. The City Clerk is hereby directed to publish notice of said public hearing as required
