RESOLUTION NO. 2013-894 RESOLUTION APPROVING APPLICATION WITH BRENT WILLIAMS FOR TAX EXEMPTIONS ON THE CONSTRUCTION OF A NEW DUPLEX VALUED AT $127,000.00 FOR PROPERTY LOCATED AT 1521-1523 BLACK HAWK ROAD IN THE CITY LIMITS URBAN REVITALIZATION AREA (CLURA), IN THE CITY OF WATERLOO, BLACK HAWK COUNTY, IOWA. WHEREAS, Brent Williams has submitted an application dated January 9, 2014 to the City Council of the City of Waterloo, Iowa, requesting to receive tax exemptions on the construction of a new duplex valued at $127,000.00 for property located at 1521- 1523 Black Hawk Road, more fully described as follows: Lot Ten (10), Huntington Park, in the City of Waterloo, Black Hawk County, State of Iowa except as follows: Beginning at the Northwest corner of said Lot Ten (10); thence Easterly along the North line of said lot to the Northeasterly corner of said Lot Ten (10); thence Southwesterly along the Easterly line of said Lot Ten (10) to the Southeast corner of said Lot Ten (10); thence Northwesterly to the point of beginning. And that part of Lot 11, Huntington Park, in the City of Waterloo, Black Hawk County, State of Iowa, described as follows: Beginning at the Northwest corner of said Lot Eleven (11); thence N90000'00"E Two Hundred Forty -Nine and Seventeen Hundredths (249.17) feet coincident with the North line of said Lot Eleven (11) to the Northeast corner of said Lot Eleven (11); thence S35011111"W Fifty -Two and Eighty Hundredths (52.80) feet coincident with the Easterly line of said Lot Eleven (11); thence S80038'11"W Two Hundred Eighty - Five and Thirteen Hundredths (285.13) feet to a point of the Westerly line of said Lot Eleven (11); thence N34057'01"E One Hundred Nine and Twenty -Five Hundredths (109.25) feet coincident with the Westerly of said Lot Eleven (11) to the point of beginning containing Twenty -Nine Thousand Twenty -Four and Six Tenths (29,024.6) square feet, or Zero and Six Hundred Sixty - Six Thousandths (0.666) Acres; and, WHEREAS, said property is located within the designated City Limits Urban Revitalization Area (CLURA) in Waterloo, Iowa, as previously established by the City Council of the City of Waterloo, Iowa, and, WHEREAS, the new construction project respecting said property is in conformance with the City Limits Urban Revitalization Area (CLURA) Plan as officially adopted by the City Council for the City of Waterloo, Iowa, and WHEREAS, the new construction on said property was made during the time in which such construction is eligible for the tax exemption as set forth in the City Limits Urban Revitalization Area (CLURA) Plan as adopted by the City Council of the City of Waterloo, Iowa, and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as adopted by the Legislature of the State of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa, and r Resolution No. 2013-894 Page 2 WHEREAS, said applicant is requesting the following three- year exemption schedule: For the first year 1000 For the second year 1000 For the third year 1000 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WATERLOO, IOWA, that said application is hereby approved and the City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to forward said application and a copy of this resolution to the Assessor.
