RESOLUTION NO. 2026-079
RESOLUTION APPROVING PRELIMINARY PLANS,
SPECIFICATIONS, FORM OF CONTRACT, ETC., SETTING
DATE OF BID OPENING AS APRIL 9, 2026, AND DATE OF
PUBLIC HEARING AS APRIL 20, 2026, IN CONJUNCTION
WITH THE 2026 AND 2027 RESIDENTIAL
LOTS/MISCELLANEOUS AREAS MOWING AND LOT
MAINTENANCE SERVICES CONTRACT FOR CITY -OWNED
LOTS GENERALLY MAINTAINED BY THE PLANNING AND
ZONING DEPARTMENT, AND INSTRUCT THE CITY CLERK
TO PUBLISH NOTICE.
WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo has prepared preliminary plans, specifications, form of
contract and estimate of cost in conjunction with the 2026 and 2027 Residential
Lots/Miscellaneous Areas Mowing and Lot Maintenance Services Contract for city -owned lots
generally maintained by the Planning and Zoning Department; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to set a date for the opening of bids to solicit qualified
contractors who can meet the specified requirements, and subsequently, to hold a public hearing
to discuss the project details and receive public comments or concerns before proceeding with
the contract.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waterloo,
Iowa, that:
1. The preliminary plans, specifications, form of contract, and estimate of cost in
conjunction with the 2026 and 2027 Residential Lots/Miscellaneous Areas Mowing and Lot
Maintenance Services Contract for city -owned lots generally maintained by the Planning and
Zoning Department, as prepared and on file in the office of the City Clerk, are hereby approved.
2. The date for the opening of bids in conjunction with the 2026 and 2027 Residential
Lots/Miscellaneous Areas Mowing and Lot Maintenance Services Contract for city -owned lots
generally maintained by the Planning and Zoning Department is set for April 9, 2026, and the
public hearing on the proposed contract and specifications is set for April 20, 2026.

2. The City Clerk is hereby directed to publish notice of said public hearing as required
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 2nd day of March 2026.
