RESOLUTION NO. 2026-084
RESOLUTION APPROVING AWARD OF HOTEL/MOTEL
TAX COUNCIL DISCRETIONARY FUNDS TO THE
WATERLOO MUNICIPAL BAND IN THE AMOUNT OF
$25,000.00.
WHEREAS the City of Waterloo allocates hotel/motel tax funds for discretionary use by
the City Council to support community projects and organizations; and
WHEREAS, the Waterloo Municipal Band has applied for funding to support a program
fostering music engagement and celebrating culture and heritage; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has reviewed the application and deems it to be a valuable
initiative deserving of financial support.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waterloo,
Iowa, that:
1. The City Council hereby approves the award of $25,000.00 from the hotel/motel tax
discretionary fund to the Waterloo Municipal Band to support the tradition of community bands
by engaging local musicians to present a series of free outdoor performances within Waterloo.
