RESOLUTION APPROVING A DEVELOPMENT
AGREEMENT WITH IOWA HEARTLAND HABITAT FOR
HUMANITY FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF ONE SINGLE-
FAMILY HOME LOCATED AT 718 W. 2ND STREET, WITH A
$7,500.00 INFILL HOUSING GRANT, AND AUTHORIZING
THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE SAID
DOCUMENT.
WHEREAS Iowa Heartland Habitat for Humanity has presented a proposal for the
construction of a single-family home, located at 718 W. 2nd Street, for infill housing
development; and
WHEREAS, the Development Agreement outlines the conditions, responsibilities, and
obligations of both the City and Iowa Heartland Habitat for Humanity, with a grant of$7,500.00
for infill housing development for the construction of one new residential unit; and
WHEREAS, it is in the City's best interest to enter into this Development Agreement to
facilitate the growth and expansion of residential properties within the city of Waterloo.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waterloo,
Iowa, that:
1. The Development Agreement with Iowa Heartland Habitat for Humanity for the
construction of a single-family home at 718 W. 2nd Street is hereby approved.
2. A $7,500.00 infill housing incentive grant will be provided to Iowa Heartland Habitat
for Humanity.
3. The Mayor and City Clerk are authorized and directed to execute said documents on
behalf of the City of Waterloo, Iowa.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 2nd day of March 2026.
