RESOLUTION NO. 2026-128
RESOLUTION APPROVING AWARD OF BID TO KW
ELECTRIC OF CEDAR FALLS, IOWA IN THE AMOUNT OF
$89,998.00, APPROVING THE CONTRACT, BONDS, AND
CERTIFICATE OF INSURANCE, IN CONJUNCTION WITH
THE AIRFIELD LIGHTING CONTROL SYSTEM
UPGRADE/REPLACEMENT, FAA AIP PROJECT NO. 3-19-
0094-061, AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY
CLERK TO EXECUTE SAID DOCUMENTS.
WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo, Iowa, has duly advertised and solicited bids for the
Airfield Lighting Control System Upgrade/Replacement, FAA AIP Project No. 3-19-0094-061;
and
WHEREAS, KW Electric of Cedar Falls, Iowa, has submitted the lowest responsible bid
in the amount of $89,998.00, meeting all required specifications for the project; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that it is in the best interest of the city to
accept the bid from KW Electric, and proceed with the project to complete the
upgrade/replacement of the Airfield Lighting Control System; and
WHEREAS, the contract, bonds, and certificate of insurance have been reviewed and are
in compliance with the City's requirements and specifications.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WATERLOO, IOWA,
1. The bid submitted by KW Electric, in the amount of $89,998.00for the Airfield
Lighting Control System Upgrade/Replacement, FAA AIP Project No. 3-19-0094-061, is hereby
approved.
2. The contract, bonds, and certificate of insurance in connection with the project are
hereby approved.
3. The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to execute said
documents on behalf of the City of Waterloo, Iowa.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 16th day of March 2026.
