RESOLUTION NO. 2026-185
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING SPONSORSHIP OF THE
BUSINESS INCENTIVES FOR GROWTH APPLICATION
WITH THE IOWA ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
AUTHORITY, FOR ADVANCED HEAT TREAT, FOR SALE
TAX EXEMPTION FOR THEIR NEW BUSINESS EXPANSION
LOCATED AT 2851 BURTON AVENUE, AND
AUTHORIZING THE COMMUNITY PLANNING AND
DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR TO EXECUTE SAID
APPLICATION.
WHEREAS, Advanced Heat Treat is proposing a new business expansion located at 2851
Burton Avenue, Waterloo, Iowa; and
WHEREAS, Advanced Heat Treat seeks to apply to the Iowa Economic Development
Authority under the Business Incentives for Growth (BIG) Program for sales tax exemption in
connection with said expansion; and
WHEREAS, the Business Incentives for Growth application requires sponsorship by the
City of Waterloo, Iowa; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds it to be in the best interests of the City of Waterloo,
Iowa, to sponsor the application of Advanced Heat Treat.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waterloo,
Iowa, that:
1. The City Council hereby authorizes sponsorship of the Business Incentives for
Growth Application with the Iowa Economic Development Authority for Advanced Heat Treat,
for sales tax exemption related to a new business expansion located at 2851 Burton Avenue,
Waterloo, Iowa.
2. The Community Planning and Development Director is authorized and directed to
execute said documents on behalf of the City of Waterloo, Iowa.
