RESOLUTION NO. 2026-157
RESOLUTION APPROVING AWARD OF BID TO
MUNICIPAL PIPE TOOL CO., LLC, OF HUDSON, IOWA IN
THE AMOUNT OF $975,236.75 AND BID ALTERNATE NO. 1
AT $32,268.70 FOR A TOTAL CONTRACT OF $1,007,505.45
AND APPROVING THE CONTRACT, BONDS, AND
CERTIFICATE OF INSURANCE, IN CONJUNCTION WITH
THE FY 2026 CIP PIPELINING PHASE VA, CONTACT NO.
1141, AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK
TO EXECUTE SAID DOCUMENTS.
WHEREAS, bids have been received for the FY 2026 CIP Pipelining Phase VA, Contract
No. 1141; and
WHEREAS, Municipal Pipe Tool Co., LLC, of Hudson, Iowa has submitted the lowest
responsible bid in the amount of $975,236.75, together with Bid Alternate No. 1 in the amount of
$32,268.70, for a total contract amount of $1,007,505.45; and
WHEREAS, the contract documents, including the contract, bonds, and certificate of
insurance, have been presented to the City Council for approval.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waterloo,
Iowa, that:
1. The bid of Municipal Pipe Tool Co., LLC, of Hudson, Iowa, in the amount of
$975,236.75, together with Bid Alternate No. 1 in the amount of $32,268.70, for a total contract
amount of $1,007,505.45, for the FY 2026 CIP Pipelining Phase VA, Contract No. 1141, is
hereby accepted and approved.
2. The contract, bonds, and certificate of insurance for said project are hereby approved.
3. The Mayor and City Clerk are authorized and directed to execute said documents on
behalf of the City of Waterloo, Iowa.
