RESOLUTION NO. 2026-164
RESOLUTION APPROVING AWARD OF BID TO PETERSON
CONTRACTORS, INC., OF REINBECK, IOWA, IN THE
AMOUNT OF $7,727,051.20, APPROVING THE CONTRACT,
BOND AND CERTIFICATE OF INSURANCE, IN
CONJUNCTION WITH THE FY 2026 KATOSKI DRIVE AND
HUNTINGTON ROAD RECONSTRUCTION, CONTRACT NO.
1123, AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK
TO EXECUTE SAID DOCUMENT.
WHEREAS, bids have been received for the FY 2026 Katoski Drive and Huntington
Road Reconstruction, Contract No. 1123; and
WHEREAS, Peterson Contractors, Inc., of Reinbeck, Iowa, has submitted the lowest
responsible bid in the amount of $7,727,051.20; and
WHEREAS, the contract documents, including the contract, bond, and certificate of
insurance, have been presented to the City Council for approval.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waterloo,
Iowa, that:
1. The bid of Peterson Contractors, Inc., of Reinbeck, Iowa, in the amount of
$7,727,051.20, for the FY 2026 Katoski Drive and Huntington Road Reconstruction, Contract
No. 1123, is hereby accepted and approved.
2. The contract, bond, and certificate of insurance for said project are hereby approved.
3. The Mayor and City Clerk are authorized and directed to execute said documents on
behalf of the City of Waterloo, Iowa.
