RESOLUTION NO. 2013-23
RESOLUTION APPROVING APPLICATION WITH NATHAN
NEFF FOR TAX EXEMPTIONS ON THE REHABILITATION
OF A SINGLE FAMILY HOME TOTALING $20,000.00
FOR PROPERTY LOCATED AT 1710 BURTON AVENUE IN
THE CONSOLIDATED URBAN REVITALIZATION AREA,
IN THE CITY OF WATERLOO, BLACK HAWK COUNTY,
IOWA.
WHEREAS, Nathan Neff has submitted an application dated
November 19, 2012 to the City Council of the City of Waterloo,
Iowa, requesting to receive tax exemptions on the rehabilitation
of a single family home totaling $20,000.00 for property located
at 1710 Burton Avenue, more fully described as follows:
That part of the West Half of the Southwest Quarter of
the Northwest Quarter of Section No. Fourteen (14),
Township No. Eighty-nine (89) North, Range No. Thirteen
(13 ) West of the Fifth (5 th) Principal Meridian, in the
City of Waterloo, Iowa, described as follows:
Commencing at a point on the West line of said Section
that is Seven Hundred Fifty-two and Seven Tenths
(752.7) feet North of the Southwest corner of the
Northwest Quarter of said Section, thence Easterly at
an angle of Eighty-nine (89) degrees Fifteen (15)
minutes in the Southeast a distance of Five Hundred
Ninety-three and Two tenths (593.2) feet to the
Southwesterly line of the Illinois Central Railroad
Right of Way, thence Northwesterly along the
Southwesterly line of said Right of Way a distance of
Eighty-nine and Three tenths (89.3) feet, thence West
along a line that is parallel with and Fifty-eight and
Four Tenths (58.4) feet distant from the first
described course a distance of Five Hundred Twenty-five
and Fifty-three Hundredths (525.53) feet to the West
line of said Section, thence South along the West line
of said Section a distance of Fifty-eight and Four
Tenths (58.4) feet to the place of beginning;
Except that part of said tract conveyed to the
Waterloo, Cedar Falls and Northern Railway Company by
Deed recorded in Town Lot Deed Record 90, at page 238,
of the records of Black Hawk County, Iowa, and except
that part of said tract conveyed to the State of Iowa
by Warranty Deed recorded in Land Deed Record 113, at
page 1, of the records of said County.
Subject to easements, restrictions, covenants,
ordinances and limited access provisions of record;
and,
WHEREAS, said property is located within the designated
Consolidated Urban Revitalization Area in Waterloo, Iowa, as
previously established by the City Council of the City of
Waterloo, Iowa, and
WHEREAS, the rehabilitation project respecting said property
is in conformance with the Consolidated Urban Revitalization Plan
as officially adopted by the City Council for the City of
Waterloo, Iowa, and

WHEREAS, the rehabilitation on said property was made during
the time in which such improvements are eligible for the tax
exemption as set forth in the Consolidated Urban Revitalization
Plan as adopted by the City Council of the City of Waterloo,
Iowa, and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as adopted
by the Legislature of the State of Iowa and signed by the
Governor of the State of Iowa, and
WHEREAS, said applicant is requesting the following three-
year exemption schedule:

For the second year
For the third year

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WATERLOO, IOWA, that said application is hereby approved
and the City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to forward
said application and a copy of this resolution to the Assessor.
