RESOLUTION NO. 2013-30
RESOLUTION APPROVING THE RELOCATION OF
COMMERCIAL OR INDUSTRIAL ENTERPRISE.
WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo has been asked to provide a
written agreement relating to the use of tax increment funds for
a company that has decided to relocate within the county or to an
adjacent county; and
WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo has determined that it has no
objection to the use of tax increment funds related to the
relocation of the company, known as SKS Communications LLC to the
City of La Porte City; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WATERLOO, IOWA:
Section 1. The undersigned Cities of Waterloo and La Porte
City, through action of the City Councils, state and agree to the
following for the purpose of compliance with Iowa Code Section
403.19 (9) (a) (1) :
A. That SKS Communications LLC has decided to relocate its
business to the City of La Porte City.
B. That the City of Waterloo has no objection to the City
of La Porte City providing for the use of tax increment
funds for any potential urban renewal project or
development agreement between the City of La Porte City
and SKS Communications LLC.
C. That this resolution represents the written agreement
required under Iowa Code Section 403.19(9)(a)(1) and
the Mayor and City Clerk of each city are authorized to
sign this resolution and other applicable documents, if
any, to effectuate the purpose of this resolution.
