RESOLUTION NO. 2026-212
RESOLUTION APPROVING A MEMORANDUM OF
AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE UNITED STATES
ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AGENCY, THE IOWA
STATE HISTORIC PRESERVATION OFFICE, AND THE CITY
OF WATERLOO, IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE
ABATEMENT OF HAZARDOUS MATERIALS AT THE
FORMER RATH PACKING PLAN AND AUTHORIZING THE
MAYOR TO EXECUTE SAID DOCUMENT.
WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo has been presented with a proposed Memorandum of
Agreement between the United States Environmental Protection Agency, the Iowa State Historic
Preservation Office, and the City of Waterloo in conjunction with the abatement of hazardous
materials at the former Rath Packing Plant, and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds it is in the best interest of the City to approve said
Memorandum of Agreement.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WATERLOO, IOWA,
1. Memorandum of Agreement between the United States Environmental Protection
Agency, the Iowa State Historic Preservation Office, and the City of Waterloo, in conjunction
with the abatement of hazardous materials at the former Rath Packing Plant, is hereby approved.
2. The Mayor is authorized and directed to execute said document on behalf of the City
of Waterloo, Iowa.
