RESOLUTION NO. 2026-255 RESOLUTION APPROVING SUPPORT FOR THE BLACK HAWK COUNTY SOIL AND WATER CONSERVATION DISTRICT'S PROPOSED EXPANSION OF THEIR EXISTING DRY RUN CREEK WATERSHED IMPROVEMENT PROJECT INTO THE CITY OF WATERLOO. WHEREAS, the Black Hawk County Soil and Water Conservation District has proposed expanding its existing Dry Run Creek Watershed Improvement Project into the City of Waterloo, and WHEREAS, the proposed expansion is intended to further watershed improvement efforts and provide benefits associated with water quality, stormwater management, erosion reduction, and related environmental improvements, and WHEREAS, the City Council finds it to be in the best interests of the City to express support for the proposed expansion of said project into the City of Waterloo. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waterloo, Iowa, that: 1. The City Council hereby approves and expresses its support for the Black Hawk County Soil and Water Conservation District's proposed expansion of its existing Dry Run Creek Watershed Improvement Project into the City of Waterloo. 2. City staff are authorized to cooperate with the Black Hawk County Soil and Water Conservation District as necessary and appropriate in connection with the proposed project expansion, consistent with applicable City policies and procedures.
