RESOLUTION NO. 2026-286
RESOLUTION APPROVING AN IOWA DEPARTMENT OF
TRANSPORTATION FEDERAL -AID AGREEMENT FOR
TRANSPORTATION ALTERNATIVES PROGRAM (TAP)
PROJECT FUNDS, IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE FY 2026
CEDAR PRAIRIE TRAIL REPLACEMENT PROJECT -
DEWITT ROAD TO RIDGEWAY AVENUE (CEDAR FALLS),
CONTRACT NO. 1142, AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR
AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE SAID DOCUMENT.
WHEREAS the City of Waterloo, Iowa, is participating in the FY 2026 Cedar Prairie
Trail Replacement Project - Dewitt Road to Ridgeway Avenue (Cedar Falls), Contract No. 1142;
and
WHEREAS, in connection with said project, the Iowa Department of Transportation has
presented a Federal -Aid Agreement for Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP) Project
funds; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that approval of said Federal -Aid Agreement is
necessary and in the best interests of the City in order to receive and utilize TAP Project funds
for the project.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waterloo,
Iowa, that:
1. The Iowa Department of Transportation Federal -Aid Agreement for Transportation
Alternatives Program (TAP) Project funds, in conjunction with the FY 2026 Cedar Prairie Trail
Replacement Project - Dewitt Road to Ridgeway Avenue (Cedar Falls), Contract No. 1142, is
hereby approved.
2. The Mayor and City Clerk are authorized and directed to execute said document on
behalf of the City of Waterloo, Iowa.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 18`" day of May 2026.
