RESOLUTION NO. 2026-265
A RESOLUTION DENYING THE AWARD OF
HOTEL/MOTEL TAX COUNCIL DISCRETIONARY FUNDS
TO IOWA JOBS FOR AMERICA'S GRADUATES IN THE
AMOUNT OF $25,000.00, BASED ON HOTEL MOTEL TAX
PROGRAM CRITERIA.
WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo administers hotel/motel tax funds in accordance with
applicable law, City policy, and adopted program criteria for Council discretionary funding; and
WHEREAS, Iowa Jobs for America's Graduates submitted a request for Hotel/Motel Tax
Council Discretionary Funds in the amount of $25,000.00; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has reviewed the application materials and considered the
request in relation to the established hotel/motel tax program criteria; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the proposed use of funds does not sufficiently
meet and/or demonstrate compliance with the applicable hotel/motel tax program criteria for
award under the Council discretionary funding program and therefore desires to formally deny
the funding request on that basis.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WATERLOO, IOWA:
1. The request submitted by Iowa Jobs for America's Graduates for Hotel/Motel Tax
Council Discretionary Funds in the amount of $25,000.00 is hereby denied.
2. The denial of this request is based upon the City Council's determination that the
application does not satisfy the hotel/motel tax program criteria required for Council
discretionary funding.
