RESOLUTION NO. 2026-273
RESOLUTION APPROVING PROPOSED CONSTRUCTION
OF SIDEWALK IMPROVEMENTS IN CONJUNCTION WITH
FY 2027 SIDEWALK INSPECTION AND REPAIR PROGRAM
— ZONE 5B.
WHEREAS the City of Waterloo, Iowa, deems it necessary and in the public interest to
require the construction, reconstruction, repair, and/or replacement of defective sidewalks in
Zone 5B as part of the FY 2027 Sidewalk Inspection and Repair Program; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to applicable provisions of the Code of Iowa and the ordinances of
the City of Waterloo, the City Council has caused inspections to be made and has identified
sidewalks requiring improvement; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has reviewed the Proposed Resolution of Necessity that
details the scope of required repairs, costs, and assessment methods to be used for the
improvements within Zone 5B; and
WHEREAS, all required notices have been given and public hearings have been
conducted in accordance with state and local laws to gather public input on the proposed
assessments; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has duly considered any objections, suggestions, or
amendments posed by the public and stakeholders regarding the proposed resolution.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waterloo,
Iowa, that:
1. The proposed Resolution of Necessity in conjunction with the FY 2027 Sidewalk
Inspection and Repair Program — Zone 5B, is hereby adopted and approved.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 18th day of May 2026.
